A Delicious Pizza Masterclass with Mauri & Don KR
A few weeks ago, our team were lucky enough to join the teams from Mauri Flour and Don KR as well as select customers for a fantastic Pizza Masterclass at Vanrooy Machinery.
The morning brought together our customers and suppliers to learn about and sample some key products: the Maximus Flour and Milano Flour from Mauri, and the Cookt Range from Don KR.
We kicked off with an interactive quiz about pizza, which our very own Tony Lo Tauro won (we promise it wasn't rigged, he just loves his pizza!).
Mauri then presented the technical specifications and uses of their flours, and demonstrated the use of these flours by making some pizzas to demonstrate the differences between the Maximus and Milano flours. They discussed the differences in pre-fermented dough and instant dough in the pizza making process. We were also shown a freshly made dough to highlight the difference in the development of the dough.
We were lucky enough to try some delicous ribs from Don KR's Cookt range, which were a truly mouthwatering treat.
Lastly, we split into teams and got to try our hand at making our own pizzas using different products. The team from Lipari Pizza won the day by innovatively using the Cookt Burnt Ends as the hero ingredient on their pizza, a tasty combination.
At the end of the day, there wasn't a single empty stomach in the room, and all attendees had their pizza cravings well and truly satisfied. Thank you to all who attended for making it such a spectacularly successful day, we can't wait to do something like this again!
